Synopsis:
The people of Earth are suddenly faced with the fact that worlds other than their own exist, and they're not friendly. An invading force with advanced technology called Neighbors, have threatened to overrun and conquer the world. Luckily, an organization named Border was established to stop them. They have set up a base of operations in Mikado City near the gate that acts as entry point of Neighbors.
In the action sci-fi anime World Trigger, middle-school student Osamu Mikumo meets mysterious transferee Yuuma Kuga four and a half years after the appearance of the gate. Osamu, who’s secretly a Border member in training, finds out that Yuuma is not your typical student either.

Art - 6/10
The anime's art is a bit bland. In a world of cookie-cutter animation, this one couldn't really stand out. The fight scenes tries to be flashy but still lacking. A lot of anime-lovers are obsessed about art of the show and would drop the anime if it does not showcase what they want. The animation is slow and there are times when i had a problem distinguishing miwa and kazama.:(
Sound - 10/10
i love the sounds from this anime. They are really appropriate with the theme. The beat is really good and would put you in the right mood to fight off the neighbors. The OP's is A for awesome.
Story - 8/10
Inter-dimension stuff had always been a very interesting thing to tackle. Even though a lot of anime has the same thing to offer these days, many anime lover still get hooked. That's one of the reason why i never strayed on an episode even though i give out much complaint. The plot is pretty much straightforward. A Human vs monster kind of scheme. A fight to the death( or in this case, a fight till they bail out or get captured). So no deaths everyone. We do not tolerate any blood and gore here.:( It doesn't provide any interesting backstories or side stories either, Aside from Yuma's. The info-dumping is a bit too much and boring.
Characters - 7/10
I hate to say this, but i can't stop cringing whenever the main character shows up. Osamu is your relatable, not yet strong character who's supposed to get stronger as the episode goes on. But the problem is, i can't see any growth in him whatsoever. He's the supposed tactician who's lack of trion will be compensated by his ability to think strategically in his fights, but it seems that he just relies on other's help. He preaches on saving people and morality but he can't even save himself.
The other main character is Yuma. He's the charming neighbor who doesn't yet understand most of the things in our world. He's usually amusing nature changes to such calm whenever he fights that you couldn't help but pine for him and urge him. Beat him Kuga!!
The other side characters is a mix of good and bad as well. Mostly good but not that interesting.
Overall - 8/10
i do not love and hate this anime. it's really interesting to watch and want to know what will happen next. People should give this anime a chance. You'll forget about the art and can focus on the story. I think i'm also waiting for osamu to be stronger even though i'm already on episode 65 and still can't bear him. I have not lose all hope. I do enjoy this anime and will continue to watch its progress.
